America Goes Vegan! America’s Favorite Comfort Foods Made Healthy by Glen Merzer (7/4)
A cookbook with vegan versions of classic American comfort foods? Sign me up! This book includes recipes for mac and cheese, pizza, burgers, and desserts. The recipes are all plant-based and use whole, unprocessed ingredients. As a vegetarian who is on a holistic journey to reverse Type 2 Diabetes by eating more plant-based and less processed vegan meat alternatives, this book is right up my alley. I can’t wait to try some of the recipes!
Beyond High Performance: What Great Coaches Know About How the Best Get Better by Jason Jaggard (7/18)
This book explores the principles and practices of great coaches that are good at teaching skills, creating a culture of excellence, and helping their athletes reach their full potential. He identifies four key areas that great coaches focus on, including a positive and supportive environment, setting clear goals, individualized instruction and feedback, and my favorite, which is to focus on the process, not just the end game.
