Do You Back Up Your Blog Posts
This post is for my fellow Medium bloggers.
Have you backed up your blog posts? I usually write in Google Docs, then copy and paste to Medium. Still, I often edit the article on the platform, especially after listening to it with Medium’s handy-dandy text-to-speech bot. Bonus tip on how to do that at the end of this post.
After reading a story about all the defunct blogging platforms, it reminded me that Medium may not be around forever. As sad as that thought is — it’s a harsh truth in the tech world. I think about all the blogs I have lost track of over the years, including AOL, Blogger, Squidoo, Typepad, and WordPress.
I loved those platforms at one time but then moved on and didn’t think about backing up my work. I’m not sure AOL even has blogs anymore. It would take precious time to find my blog posts on the other platforms. I wonder if the miracle-working ChatGPT4 could find them. Hmm. I may give that a try!
So, I went to back up my Medium posts and wasn’t sure how to do it. After a quick internet search, I found a helpful blog post by Patsy Fergusson.
