I was scrolling through Instagram (my favorite social media platform — sorry, Ev Williams, Twitter is a close second) and noticed a post by Cate Blanchett. She was asking her fans what they thought of Don’t Look Up. The movie features her as an effervescent entertainment news co-host.

The movie wasn’t on my radar, but I was curious after seeing Cate’s post. So, I looked it up on Netflix. When I saw the star-studded cast, I had to watch it. I’m glad I did.

My first thought was how ironic that Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are the lead actors trying to save the planet. I immediately thought of Jennifer in Hunger Games which feels more like reality since the pandemic. Leo is a superhero for our environment in real life. He is perfect for the role of Dr. Mindy.

I was curious who was playing the president. I wasn’t surprised by the casting director’s choice. If anyone can pull off the role as madame president, it’s Meryl Streep! I have loved her since she first got on my radar with her…
