I love quotes! They are like vitamins for the creative mind. Quotes inspire me to learn more, take action, pursue my passion, help others, and live up to my full potential.

When I find a quote I like, I write it in my journal. I have written down hundreds of quotes over the years. I would like to share a few with you. If you like them, let me know in the comments, and I will share more with you next week. Also, please tag me if you are inspired to share some of your favorite quotes on your blog. I would love to read them and add to my quote collection!

Quotes come from everywhere — from famous authors and actors to our family and on Medium!

If you work for the pay, it will never be enough. ~ Kathy Gerstorff

I will start with one of my own quotes! I developed this motto later in life. From my early twenties to late forties, I worked long days on other people’s dreams. The more money I made the more I spent. It was never enough because I was working hard to please everyone but me. My dreams took a backseat. I thought making money was the priority. It took me many years and losing everything I owned to realize material things are not the most important thing.

I now try to drill it into my grandchildren’s heads to follow their dreams, but also to prepare for the future by following sound financial advice from experts like Suze Orman. She recommends you save one hundred dollars per month in an interest-bearing account from age twenty-five to sixty-five. She says the compound interest from saving $100 per month will make you a millionaire!

A financial cushion will better prepare you for the inevitable failures on the way to success, but given the choice of making a lot of money at a job that left me feeling defeated or making a little money working at a job that energized me, I would choose life…
