Happy Early Christmas to Medium Writers
Medium just took blogging to a new level. I love the Friend of Medium membership option that helps writers earn 4X more when a Friend of Medium reads our stories!
I also love that we can share paywall stories, and the writer gets paid for it (if they are in the Medium Partner Program and choose to monetize their post). Bravo to whoever dreamed up this idea and the Medium team for implementing it!
Still, $150 is a lot of money for me to invest. So far, I’ve barely earned enough on Medium to cover the $5 monthly fee. I’m not complaining. I would write here for free, but covering the monthly fee is my minimum goal — making three figures is my dream! Well, six figures is my dream, but three is a good start in the right direction.
I love how innovative Medium is and want to be among the first to support fellow writers using their new membership option, so I decided to go ahead and squeeze this chunk of change out of my starving artist budget. I tried the $15-a-month option, but it showed that it’s not yet available—only the annual option. (I’m guessing that’s because I’m on the annual pay plan.) So, I hesitantly selected the annual option.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the annual amount was prorated. I only had to pay $27.60…
