“Success does not equate happiness.” ~ Miyoko Schinner

The first thing on my social media radar today was “BREAKING NEWS” about Miyoko Schinner being ousted and sued by the company she created.

How can that happen?! There is only one way I know of: taking your company public. When you do that, you’re basically giving up control. This story is proof of that. What choice do you have if you want to scale your business like Miyoko?

I can relate to Miyoko’s Instagram post, where she talks about impostor syndrome and says she was happy to achieve something after many decades of failed businesses.

I’m still in that failing forward stage. I have big dreams, but what Miyoko is going through makes me question ever taking a business public. She is being accused by Miyoko’s Creamery representatives of stealing trade secrets.

She vehemently denies the accusations.

Miyoko says she’s 65 and focused on her nonprofit work to save animals and promote the vegan lifestyle.
