Reversing Type 2 Diabetes
“Insulin resistance is the most common health disorder worldwide.” ~ Dr. Ben Bikman
Type 2 diabetes is mainly the result of two problems: Cells in muscle, fat and the liver become resistant to insulin. As a result, the cells don’t take in enough sugar. The pancreas can’t make enough insulin to keep blood sugar levels within a healthy range. ~ Mayo Clinic
“Diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart, and it is linked to some types of cancer.” ~ National Institute of Health
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is often called a “lifestyle disease” that is caused by our modern day culture of eating too much refined sugar and processed foods while at the same time being more sedentary.
The best way to address T2D is to not get it in the first place. Measure your blood glucose levels (the continuous glucose monitor, aka CGM, has been a game changer for me — see more info below) and get regular checkups to test your A1C.
