I love movies that make me want to know more. The Bikeriders, inspired by Danny Lyon’s photo story book about his time with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club took me down a rabbit hole that I didn’t know existed before seeing the film.
I’m not into dark drama, crime movies, or action films. I’m a romcom girl. So, what would make me be first in line to see The Bikeriders? Tom Hardy and Austin Butler of course! I fell in love with Tom Hardy after he played Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights and Austin Butler after he transformed into ELVIS.
The Bikeriders had that gritty 70s feel. As I expected, Hardy and Butler were mesmerizing. This was my first time seeing Jodie Comer in a movie. She did a great job, especially after I heard her real voice in interviews.
Tom Hardy gives Marlon Brando vibes in The Bikeriders which is being compared to Easy Rider and Goodfellas. I didn’t see the James Dean vibes from Austin Butler until it was pointed out in one of the dozens of videos I watched for research. Austin said it wasn’t intentional.
