Win Money With PSI Poetry Contests
One of my favorite poetry contests is PSI (Poetry Society of Indiana). Even though PSI is based in Indiana they accept poems from around the world.
This year they have twenty-seven categories that you can enter to win prize money! They have a small entry fee that covers submissions in all categories.
In 2020, I won first place in the Grand Prize category and one hundred dollars with my poem, Ain’t it Grand.
Ain’t It Grand?
Ain’t it grand
finding love,
holding hands.
Ain’t it grand
head in the clouds,
toes in the sand.
Ain’t it grand
slow dancing,
wedding band.
Ain’t it grand
children laughing,
lemonade stand.
Ain’t it grand
days fly,
years land.
Ain’t it grand
angels singing,
rainbow’s end.
Ain’t it grand?
Let’s do it again!
My poem On a Saturday won second place in the President’s Award category. I received twenty-five dollars, which is fine with me because I usually write poetry for free.
On a Saturday
On a Saturday,
we give thanks and pray.
On a Saturday,
blue skies instead of gray.
On a Saturday,
adventure leads the way.
On a Saturday,
no ties or hairspray.
On a Saturday,
children laugh and play.
On a Saturday,
plié and sashay.
On a Saturday,
love rules the day.
On a Saturday,
joy comes to stay.
